Many lion's mane, blue jellyfish and others on South Shields beach

Description and Comments

Walking along the stretch of the beach, countless blue jellyfish were spotted washed up and in the water. You couldn't walk far without seeing them. There were also at least 10 giant lion's mane jellies washed up and at least 2 spotted in the surf. These were of a large size of approximately 50-80cm in diameter. There were a couple of clearer, small jellyfish with crosses on the top. The weather was sunny, with a slight breeze and calm water. (condition listed as unhealthy as there were plenty alive, but also many dead ones)
