Thousands of Velella Chitons in Lincoln City beach.

Description and Comments

After the king tides receded Sunday morning, there were hundreds, possibly thousands of Velella (by the wind sailors) float/sail chitons littering the beach. They did not die or decompose here, as they were not present the night before. Most of the chitons had no blue edges, but a select few had about a millimeter of blue mass left.
