Velella and Portugese man of war

Description and Comments

North Padre Island. Many washed ashore, but not deep, like some photos seen. It was about as thick as a sporadic seaweed in the wrackline. There were portugese man of wars, too, but less numerous. I put "dead" for condition because most were, but there were a good number still alive, perhaps one to every 50-100 dead ones?
