First jellies observed this season

Description and Comments

This afternoon I found the first jellies I've seen this season. They were four immature Cyanea lamarckii medusae ranging in size from 8 - 12cm in bell diameter. They were left on the sandy beach as the tide went out. The wind was screaming off shore today. Last year the first jellies I observed on the same beach in the same location arrived on 15 May.
