small jellies in Nicaragua

Pacific Coast, Playa El Coco, small jellies; after we came out of the water from body surfing for 1/2 an hour 2 of us had stings all over with itch reaction; treatment needed. Could see the small jellies on the sand as well; looked likes crystal beaks resting in the sand??
